What I did on summer vacation

One of the happiest times during our spring vacation was this visit to Bushkill Falls, PA. This photo was taken outside the Native American Exhibit hall which featured some amazing artifacts. We loved this totem pole and had fun panning for gems in their little wooden sluice outside. (More - click on title)

The jackets were purchased in NY since we Floridians brought only summer clothes with us. We were amazed to see the motel pool was not even FILLED, let alone open for swimmers.

How soon we forget crisp spring air!

A big part of travel is being prepared for the weather. My son recently attended an outdoor concert in San Francisco. With no protection from the sun, they baked during the day, and then the sun went down, and they froze. I could have told him what Mark Twain allegedly said about SanFran: "The coldest winter I ever spent was one summer in San Francisco."
