Meet the In-Laws Princess Style

When our daughter and son-in-law announced that they were expecting a baby, we decided to get to know them as a couple more intimately and treat them to a Princess Eastern Caribbean cruise while they were still carefree.     We were lucky enough to find balcony staterooms right next to each other on the Crown Princess and it worked beautifully. Whenever one couple or the other was ready for the next adventure, we only had to lean around the balcony wall to see if the other was up and ready to go. As it happened, our clocks were almost perfectly aligned so there was no debate on scheduling.
There were so many choice excursions that we tried to split up and do them separately, reporting back in the evening with pictures and tales of our adventures. They hiked and snorkeled while we took the tour bus and submarine trip. Then we all snorkeled and basked on the beach at Princess Cay together. We also enjoyed shopping together at the ports of call and on the ship.

The food was hands-down, the best we could imagine. I had seafood of some kind every day (heaven for me) and many times it was lobster in some form. We really appreciated the informality of anytime dining and the attentiveness of the staff.

We could not have asked for a more friendly, helpful staff everywhere we went on the ship and believe me, we explored it from stem to stern. We swam in all the pools, played mini-golf, saw an outstanding show every evening, danced until midnight, even caught the end of a great movie on deck as we enjoyed 1am pizza one time.
Our only regret is the voyage was over before we could get to the spa for a couples treatment.

Now, our little grandson is three years old and we still enjoy reminiscing about that wonderful time when we truly bonded with their parents in a magical time in the Caribbean. Someday we hope to take him on a Princess cruise.

The next thing on our bucket list is a trip to Australia/New Zealand. A friend, who had been an email pal for 15 years, came to visit us here in the states last summer and she assures me it is Australian law that we must now visit with them in Australia! It would be wondrous if you could make this wish come true. We don't want to be in trouble with the Australian government after all.

If you want to help us win this trip, you can vote for our entry from February 11th-25th (limit one per day)! The entry with the most votes will win the grand prize—a Princess Cruises dream vacation for two, including roundtrip airfare! If we win, we’ll get to choose from one of eight unforgettable destinations: Europe, Asia, Tahiti, Australia/New Zealand, the Holy Land, Panama Canal, Alaska or South America.

New Zealand is #1 on my bucket list. I can't go right now because I am a caregiver for my father, but someday!

Love this post. I've only been on one cruise on the QM2 and this made me want to go on another.
